Curriculum

Science At Key Stage 3 students follow a scheme of work based on that published by QCA. The department uses Hodder resources. We provide all students with a revision guide to help them prepare for the SATS.

At Key Stage 4 students follow the AQA Core Science GCSE in Year 10 and AQA Additional Science GCSE. Students are placed into teaching groups in line with the department’s setting policy.

In Year 12 and 13 students can continue studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics following OCR specification A. Also available is the opportunity to study Psychology. Each student is provided with their own copy of the relevant course textbook.

Accommodation

The science department is well resourced, with nine science laboratories and five preparation areas. We are fortunate enough to have a Science Resource Hub with our own suite of computers. Most laboratories also have data projectors fitted and three have interactive whiteboards.
